Treme'

If any area of the city vied for the unenviable distinction of being the poorest, most rundown, and depressing district of New Orleans, Treme’ would win handily. The large black population of Downtown has suffered repeatedly through yellow fever and was ravaged by the flu pandemic following the Great War. This also has the distinction of being home to two-thirds of the St. Louis cemeteries as well as Congo Square (all places where voodoo practitioners make a habit of visiting) amidst the decaying architecture.
